Dr. McCain has been a part of Companion Animal Hospital since 2019 and has also recently purchased the practice. Prior to working here, Dr. McCain achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science with a minor in Biology, graduating Summa Cum Laude and as a university scholar (School of Honors) from Stephen F. Austin University in 2014. Dr. McCain then earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University's School of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. Throughout both undergraduate and veterinary school, she was the recipient of numerous awards. Her special areas of interest in veterinary medicine include soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and internal medicine. Dr. McCain is a member of many professional veterinary associations including the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Heartworm Society.
