Garden Distric Urban Farm Updated:06/2013

Garden District Urban Farm is a 10,000 square foot garden that has been in production for over thirty years. The original creator of the garden recently passed away and has left it for me to continue the hard work, dedication and love of gardening. In the heart of Monroe's Garden District the garden will now provide for the neighborhood under the banner of Community Supported Agriculture. Close to two universities, interns for the garden will be welcome in our work/share program. Biodynamic and no-dig methods are the norm. Heirloom seeds and plants, gourmet lettuces, are serving members and local restaurants. Garden District Urban Farm & House is available for travelers through the area. Check us out on and soon link to website, which is under construction.
"Members" or "subscribers" invest in one or all three 10 week seasonal growing block. Once the harvest begins and throughout the season members pick up their "share" at the garden each week. Shares are $250 per 10 week season. If pick up is missed that week's share is forfeited and will be given to a food bank, the homeless or composted.
