Natural Communities of Louisianas Coastal Zone

The goal of the Rare Plants, Animals, and Natural Communities of the Louisiana Coastal Zone project was to create a manual of species and natural communities of special concern for all of the river basins contained within the coastal zone. The fact sheets in the book will provide specific information about each species of community found within the coastal zone including descriptions, distribution map, conservation status, and photos or illustrations as available.

This project was funded by the 2007 BTNEP Mini-Grants Program and created and developed by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, under the direction of Patricia Faulker, Ecologist, in the department's Louisiana Natural Heritage Program.
