Mildred 'Mimi' Methvin Updated:03/2022

The goal at Satori ADR is to facilitate solutions that are effective as well as efficient in terms of both time and expense. Mildred E. "Mimi" Methvin launched Satori after twenty-six years trying, managing, and settling cases as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Western District of Louisiana in Lafayette, Louisiana. Her experience spans all types of cases, including personal injury, environmental, intellectual property rights, maritime, contract, civil rights, employment, and construction litigation.

A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Tulane University, Mimi has a distinguished record both as a trial judge and as a mediator. She was the first in her federal district to utilize summary jury trials for settlement, and has lectured on both mediation and the use of novel jury trial techniques in patent and other complex litigation. Her natural abilities for leadership and consensus-building have won praise from both attorneys, parties, witnesses, and other judges.

Mimi was inducted into the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals in 2012, one of the only organizations of its kind which vets its members and requires stringent practice criteria.
